Camp Victory is an affordable Bible camp, sponsored by American Missionary Fellowship. This year’s theme is “the Amazing Grace Race.”

Varsity Camp is 4 p.m. Monday July 26 through 1 p.m. Saturday July 31. Cost is $225*. This is for students entering grades eight and above.

Junior Varsity Camp is 4 p.m. Sunday August 1 through 9 a.m. Saturday August 7. Cost is $240*. Junior Varsity is for students entering grades 4-7.

*$20 discount for registrations received before July 1.

Gearing up for 2010

A camp planning meeting has been scheduled for Oct. 10, in Stevenson, California, and camp volunteers are excited about the coming year. In preparation, we are revamping CampVictory.net. Here you will find information, photos and video, and testimonies about Camp Victory. I don’t know that anyone knows how old the camp is — formerly it was called Camp Earnest — but memories run deep, and the meaningfulness of camp cannot be overstated. Here, people’s lives are changed, both campers and staff. Stay tuned for updates.

Rock on the Mount 2009 raises funds for Camp Victory

A few hundred dollars were raised for Camp Victory at a Christian rock festival in the mountains last month. Rock on the Mount, hosted by Mountain Bible Church, features acts primarily involved in ministry. A band from Oregon, Johannes, headlined. This trio is well known at Mt. Hope Bible Camp, another American Missionary Fellowship camp. It was their first appearance in Santa Cruz. Members of Mountain Bible Church played as Gospel Days, fronted by camp worker Mark Adams.

The festival, first organized by Roth Rind two years ago, benefitted four missionary points: Camp Victory, Missionary Todd Brown, an African well project and micro-loans in West Africa.

Several campers from Lakeside Community Church and Mountain Bible Church attended, making this a fun event. Greg and Maureen Sanders came, too, and it was great to see them.

File between “not really meaningful” and “totally pointless,” right under “fun.” Camp Director Stephen Abbas of Lakeside Community Church (Hanford, CA), gave camp workers Emily and Riley a camera to play around with. Fun.

“Hero” from the Extravaganza

The end of a week at Camp Victory is punctuated with a talent show called the Extravaganza. Here, Setphenie and Kea’s cabins perform “Hero” by SuperChick. I think they took first place.

Camp having passed, this site doesn’t get much traffic, but we are preparing for next year.
